About This Project
DriveEase is a premium mobile-first marketplace for the Cameroonian auto market that puts the entire vehicle lifecycle — discovering, buying, renting, selling, and parking — into a single, intuitive Ionic-powered app. Built for everyday drivers, private sellers, and verified dealers in cities like Douala and Yaoundé, the platform lets visitors browse a curated catalogue of cars without signing up, then unlocks deeper functionality the moment they create an account: saving favorites to a personal wishlist, listing vehicles for sale or rent through a guided multi-step submission flow (photos, VIN, carte grise, customs paperwork, owner ID and sales certificate, all reviewed by the in-house verification team), tracking their own listings and statuses, and contacting sellers instantly over WhatsApp. The experience is localised for the region (XAF pricing, French/English/Spanish/Chinese/Arabic/Dutch translations, location-aware greeting via device GPS) and engineered for real-world conditions: offline-tolerant pull-to-refresh, paginated infinite-scroll listings, low-bandwidth image fallbacks, native share links so a car detail page can be sent to anyone via the OS share sheet, and human-friendly error messages when the network or server misbehaves. Under the hood it runs on Angular 20 standalone components, Capacitor for Android packaging, JWT-secured REST APIs, and a layered route-guard system that lets guests freely explore the Home and Marketplace while gating purchase, sell, profile and wishlist actions behind a friendly sign-in prompt — making DriveEase as approachable for first-time visitors as it is powerful for serious buyers and sellers.
